A Distinct Identity - Changing Lives One Conversation at a Time

The Tarmac Foundation knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. The CEO of the Tarmac Foundation, LLC is Susan Newhouse Burton. She is a single mother of two and knows the value of hard work and determination despite obstacles that often fall in front of us.

Susan has been an active member of her church since its inception in 2005, takes ministry and mentoring to another level and has always stated that her strong foundation comes from her faith in God.  She has been a member of the Tallahassee community for approximately 25 years, has served as a local law enforcement officer for over 24 years and runs Tarmac Basketball for girls throughout the year. Susan graduated from Florida State University in 1999 with a Bachelor's in Science and in 2019 she obtained her MBA from Keiser University. Susan additionally has over 15 years of emergency management experience to include deployments after Hurricane Katrina and Michael, so she understands how large scale incidents can sometimes create hardships on individuals within the community.

In planning for a future within this community Susan developed The Tarmac Foundation, Inc., a place where we can help our youth become grounded in faith and stronger in sports and education.  She realized that by providing venues to build good moral character and leadership concepts, it provided an avenue for positive community relationships and the ability to form a strong foundation with God on the forefront. .  The Tarmac Foundation is built on faith and servant leadership concepts.
